This project is for a Multiple use building in Keratsini, a western suburb of Athens. Though primarily a cultural center, the building is meant to host a variety of uses and can accommodate up to 750 people. The design responds to the difficult topography of the site, a mound that lies between a park and a civic center. The sub-terranean solution enables us to bleed the borders of the park into the civic space. The overlap of building and open space connects the existing uses with a planted roof creating an elevated garden that offers views of the city and the sea. This project is a unique controlled bioclimatic environment, a construction that replies to increasing ecological issues in architecture.
